About The Blog: I started this blog because I love food. I just recently graduated from Kendall College’s culinary certificate program and now have the title: Certified Chef. This is a blog for people who want to eat (good food).
About Me: I grew up in family where we talked about what we ate (all of the time). My mom had a rockin’ cookie business, a garden full of vegetables, and a library of the best cookbooks. My dad cooked and was the one who ultimately inspired my culinary curiosity. I still remember the first time he taught me how to make the perfect pancake. I was into it—before the age of 10, I started my own “cooking show” and opened “Big Louie’s Diner” among other restaurants right in my very own home.
My husband, Brian, and I live in Chicago. At our home we turn the music up, we cook, and we tell stories. We are two people always on the go, but will certainly slow down for dinner in good company.
My Food Philosophy: Food sustains us—but it is so much more than that, it transcends cultures, families, people and our pasts. It does not need to be expensive; it just needs to be prepared well. I believe that what we eat should be real, fresh, and originate from sustainable sources. Food brings people together.
