Caroline grew up in family where they talked about what they ate (all of the time). Her mom had a rockin’ cookie business, a garden full of vegetables, and a library of the best cookbooks. Her dad cooked and was the one who ultimately inspired Caroline’s culinary curiosity. She still remembers the first time he taught her how to make the perfect pancake. Caroline was into it—before the age of ten, she started her own ‘cooking show’ and opened ‘Big Louie’s Diner’ among other restaurants right in her very own home.
Caroline, her husband Brian, and their daughter, Nora, live in Chicago. At home they turn the music up, cook, and tell stories. They are a family always on the go, but will certainly slow down for dinner in good company.
Caroline has received degrees from both Butler University (journalism) and Kendall College (culinary arts, personal chef and catering). She has contributed to Time Out Chicago magazine and DiningOut Chicago magazine.
