I used to love to work out, not in an obsessive way, but I definitely loved getting the energy out (as we say with our kids) on the daily. I come from a long line of people who like to walk places, go hiking, and play any type of racquet sport (speaking of, have you tried pickleball yet?). But since George and Sam were born, I've been, like... working out? Um, I take care of children, that's good, yes?!
Sam is coming up on her second birthday and I think it's time. Is it possible to be in the baby fog for 2 years?! That's whats been happening over here. It is sooo time.
So on New Year's Day I resolved to get myself movin' (as one does). It was mild enough to go on some slow jogs that first week. But now that it has become the tundra or ice town here in Chicago, I have resorted to YouTube videos of Tracy Anderson cardio dance instruction in my kids' bedroom while the rest of the family eats pancakes on Saturdays. Brian caught a glimpse of my moves and I'm pretty sure he was embarrassed for me. There's no shame in the game, folks.
My favorite workouts are, anything outdoors, yoga, and if I can find one, a good cardio class. I would love to post regularly about fun, interesting ways to get moving this year! What about you? How are staying active during these cold months?
^^ The above photo is a snapshot from one of my high school yearbooks. It's worth noting that this picture makes it look like I went to school in the 50's. ...1999 folks!
