CKT Spaghetti Sauce

CKT Spaghetti Sauce

Recipe Note: Moderate - 3 hr cook time

1/2 lb mild Italian sausage
1/2 lb ground beef
1 large chopped onion
2 cloves garlic - minced
4, 6 oz cans tomato sauce
 6 oz can Italian style tomato paste
3 cups water
scant 1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp ground red pepper
1 cup sliced mushrooms

parmesan cheese

Remove casings from sausage - cooks sausage & ground beef in large skillet over medium heat, about 6 minutes. Add onion & garlic and sauce for 4 minutes or until done. Drain, set aside. Combine sauces & next 7 ingredients in skillet or dutch oven pan.  Cook stirring occasionally for 1 hour.  Add sausage mixture & mushroom.  Cook, stirring occasionally 1 hour & 30 minutes or until mixture thickens.  Serve over linguine & sprinkle with cheese.
